Participatory management for a sustainable water future

We were part of a key process for water management in Lima and Callao: the creation of the Water Resources Council of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín Interregional Basin. After years of articulation and technical work with public, private and civil society institutions, the Council was formalized in 2016 together with the National Water Authority, becoming one of the first water governance spaces in Lima.

Since its creation, Aquafondo has been a member of the Interregional Water Resources Council of the Chillon, Rimac and Lurin Basin, providing experience, articulation and solutions to strengthen water governance in the basin.

A space for dialogue and collective action

The Council functions as a large roundtable where communities, public institutions, the private sector, universities and social organizations meet to discuss and agree on water management solutions. Its multi-stakeholder nature ensures that decisions are more inclusive and respond to the realities of the territory.

Our commitment

Since its creation, Aquafondo has actively participated in two working groups of the Council.
