At Cbc Peru, we firmly believe that water is a fundamental resource for the life and development of communities. Therefore, we are very pleased to work with Aquafondo, an organization that leads initiatives to ensure water security and proper management of the resource for all citizens.

The Consultative Council, as part of Aquafondo’s multi-stakeholder collaboration, expands its impact with proposals and linkage spaces for the sustainable use of water in the Chillon, Rimac and Lurin basins.

Aquafondo’s merit is to promote, from the private side, innovation, excellent practices to preserve the water of Lima’s upper watersheds and to promote a long-term vision of how to guarantee this resource for our future generations.

Aquafondo leads the articulation of efforts between the public and private sectors and communities to guarantee water security in Lima, which is home to one third of the Peruvian population. Clear leadership, guaranteed success!

From the Latin American Alliance of Water Funds, especially from TNC, we have supported Aquafondo since its inception. It has become a reference in water management in Lima and an innovative institution, raising awareness about the value of and access to water.

For 2030 WRG, it is a pleasure to work in partnership with Aquafondo. Their extensive experience and commitment to the development of Nature-Based Solutions and the sustainable management of water resources in the country, aligns with our global mission and strengthens the impact of multi-sector collaboration that we have been promoting.

One of the major problems that we face together, ANA and Aquafondo, is the reuse of treated wastewater and water quality monitoring; in addition to the promotion of water culture and the articulation with universities, because we have to incorporate them in different research tasks to produce information related to the water resources of the basins, which supply almost a third of the national population.
