Millenary structures for water security

In the Lima Andes, rainfall is becoming increasingly erratic due to climate change. During the dry season, the water available in rivers and streams is drastically reduced, affecting rural communities that depend on it for their livelihoods.

The qochas, ancestral rainwater reservoirs, are today recognized as Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) that make it possible to plant water and ensure its availability in critical times.
