Our objective
Contribute to water security through the implementation of an Ecosystem-based Adaptation measure, with a focus on gender and social inclusion.
Together with the Latin American Future Foundation (FFLA) and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) we have been developing the project “Protection and Conservation of the Bofedal Yanasenega, an ancient ecosystem located in the rural community of San Pedro de Casta that contributes to water security in Lima, within the framework of its regional funding program to strengthen the implementation of fair and effective measures to conserve and protect the ecosystems of Latin America.
In this sense, the project is aligned with an Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) measure whose main component is the perimeter fencing of the Yanasenega wetland. It will also involve strengthening the community and its local stakeholders in terms of gender and social inclusion, and empowering women in decision-making for EbA measures.
