As part of the 2025 Water Responsible Company (EHR) Seal call for applications in Chile, we held the business breakfast “From Commitment to Action: Companies Transforming the Future of Water” in Santiago, together with Awua and with the support of Global Water Partnership South America.
This event gave us the opportunity to introduce 25 sustainability leaders from Chilean companies across various sectors to the experience we have developed in Peru through the Water Responsible Company (EHR) Seal. It also provided a space for exchanging perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the private sector as it moves toward more sustainable water management.

From Commitment to Action for Water Security
During the event, we discussed the importance of accelerating action to strengthen water security, particularly in the context of the challenges Chile faces as a result of the prolonged drought.
We also highlighted the importance of building partnerships to protect watersheds, strengthen communities, and promote more resilient water management. From our experience, we know that these challenges also represent an opportunity for companies to innovate, create shared value, and make water management a strategic part of their operations
During the opening remarks, Claudio Reyes, CEO of Awua, emphasized the need for companies to accelerate their efforts to strengthen the sustainability of their operations and protect water resources. He also highlighted the opportunities for businesses to drive innovation and create shared value through responsible water stewardship.

Sharing Peru’s Experience with the EHR Seal
As part of the event, Augusto Trelles, Aquafondo’s Strategic Partnerships and Water Responsible Companies Network Specialist, presented the Water Responsible Company (EHR) Seal, introducing participants to its approach, application process, evaluation criteria, and the benefits it offers participating companies.
For Aquafondo, this event was particularly valuable because it allowed us to share with Chilean companies an experience we have been building in Peru, together with organizations that have chosen to turn their commitment to water stewardship into concrete, measurable projects.

Success Stories That Show How Commitment Can Be Turned into Action
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation by Eduardo Silva, General Manager of IDE Technologies, a company recognized with the 2025 Water Responsible Company (EHR) Seal in Peru.
Drawing on the company’s experience, he shared firsthand how businesses can integrate water sustainability into their corporate strategy and develop initiatives that create value for both the organization and the communities within their areas of operation.
Sharing these success stories allows us to demonstrate that the EHR Seal not only recognizes outstanding initiatives, but also inspires more companies to move forward, learn from the experiences of others, and turn water-related challenges into opportunities for action.

A Growing Regional Network
This event confirmed that collaboration between companies and organizations is essential to accelerating solutions and fostering a corporate culture that recognizes water as a strategic asset for sustainable development.
We are excited to bring the EHR Seal experience to Chile and create new opportunities for dialogue with companies that are already taking action on water stewardship, as well as those looking to take the next step.
At Aquafondo, we continue to strengthen a regional network of Water Responsible Companies, convinced that sharing experiences, recognizing best practices, and building partnerships will help us move toward more resilient territories and a future with greater water security for Chile, Peru, and the entire region.
