We participated in the event “The future of water: Day zero”, organized by the IRD, the Embassy of France and the French Alliance, whom we deeply thank for promoting spaces for reflection and action in the face of the global water crisis.
Our Executive Director, Mariella Sánchez Guerra, participated in the round table, where we were able to share how applied science and local knowledge come together to promote integrated water management that puts people and the environment at the center.

We had the honor of dialoguing with Eufronio Obispo Rojas, community leader and water guardian of San Pedro de Casta, who highlighted the importance of revaluing ancestral knowledge, strengthening local capacities and working together to ensure more water for Lima and its communities. He reminded us that sustainable solutions are born when the voice of those who live in and care for the territory is integrated.

From Aquafondo, we reaffirm our commitment:
- Recover ecosystems and strengthen water security through nature-based solutions.
- Prepare and support communities in the management of their own water resources.
- Link science, technology and local knowledge to create real and sustainable solutions.
- Promote alliances that demonstrate that when we add wills, change becomes possible.
Science, citizens, communities and organizations are walking in the same direction. And when we work like this, #JuntosPorElAgua we build a future where water continues to be life for all.
