Our objective
To train trained and empowered change agents to lead and actively promote the adoption of Nature-based Solutions.
We rehabilitate amunas, qochas and bofedales that recharge water to the subsoil, strengthening communities and water reserves.
We train leaders and young people committed to water, promoting programs that educate, inspire and promote sustainability.
We strengthen food security with technified irrigation and sustainable practices that care for the environment and ecosystems.
We develop projects that provide safe, quality water, improving health and reducing water gaps.
Political, social, economic and administrative processes and structures used to develop, regulate and manage water resources.
We encourage companies to manage water sustainably, strengthening their competitiveness and generating shared value in the territories where they operate.
Together with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation-COSUDE we have been developing the Seedbed Program for Leaders in Nature-based Solutions-SbN. This training program brings together Aquafondo’s experience and synthesizes it into a series of theoretical and practical workshops aimed at communities and local governments. During its development, we will transfer our Intervention Model, providing guidance on the steps to follow to promote and encourage the adoption of BNS initiatives in their territories.
At the end of the program, participants will have acquired knowledge on the logic of BDS initiatives. Topics include preparation, analysis of territorial conditions, community dialogue, formulation, implementation, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of BNS, as well as lessons learned. This learning is complemented by two internships to successful BNS experiences in the Rimac river basin.
