For centuries, the Chillon, Rimac and Lurin rivers gave life to Lima’s valleys and were the axis of culture, agriculture and identity. Today, these same watersheds, which are vital for the city’s water supply, face many challenges. However, coordinated initiatives between the State, communities and organizations such as Aquafondo seek to recover their ecosystems from the highlands, protect their marginal strips and restore their quality to guarantee water for future generations.
